Case of the Monday

The week started off with a bang, literally.  It was thundering so loudly this morning that our entire house was shaking!  It had actually been storming all night, and I was happy as a clam that it decided to stop just before I had to walk out the door.  Still the perfect day for boots and my trenchcoat!

This Monday also marks the last day of 28 Posts in 28 Days Challenge.  I ended up with 27 out of 28, and I am pretty happy with that!  I don't know if I'll continue posting every day because honestly, I was really just posting out of obligation some days.

Now I am having the (almost) perfect Monday night following a rainy day and a long, slow afternoon at work.

Couch, cuddly blankets, and my adorable Pink mini
 The Bachelor!
Penzey's hint of mint hot chocolate.
Ok, ok, so maybe it looked more like this.
I'm also working on making 60+ "Hello My Name is..." tags, but I'm pretty sure the night balances out in the positive!

Workout: I promise to keep at this, even when it's a failure.  Today, failure.  5 hours on my feet at work is the closest I got!

Weekend Report Card

It's Sunday night, let's see how things are measuring up this weekend.

Posting Challenge: Fail.  I was so close, but missed posting yesterday because of a really busy day.
Having a Fun Weekend: A+.  It's been a great weekend, more to come on that later.
Getting Enough Sleep: Fail.  Oops, I really need to catch up because I don't have a single day off in the foreseeable future!
Getting My Old Body Back: My exercise record for the last few days is a big Fail, but it has been an A+ in terms of weight loss and pants fitting better!
Taking Pictures: Despite the fact that I had my camera with me the entire weekend, major Fail!  So, obviously not my pics in this post...)

I worked late Friday night and early Saturday morning, so I didn't really kick off the weekend until Saturday afternoon.  I came home and washed off the chlorine, and then we met up with Nick's friend at PF Chang's.  Yum.
We may or may not have also partaken in a series of adult beverages.  I think they purposefully leave you waiting at the table for so long just so you are enticed to order more drinks- just a theory.  Though I'll admit that I didn't realize until about 5 minutes ago that the "Bomb Pop Martini" they serve is supposed to taste like a BOMB POP!  Clever bunch they are.
After dinner, we headed across the parking lot to the movie theatre to see Hall Pass.  The girls also decided, by very official voting procedures, that 5 seconds before the movie start time would be a very appropriate time to visit the theatre's bar.  Yes, that's right, the movie theatre has it's own (very nice looking) bar.  We couldn't take drinks with us though, so shots were then obviously necessitated.

Side Note Movie Review: Hall Pass was hilarious but some very (very very) explicit sexual humor.  If that's your thing, I highly recommend it!

I stopped in the theatre restroom after the movie and walked out of the stall to literally run over one of my good friends from grad school!  I love running into people I know, even when they're people that I see most days of the week!
After the movie it was time to move to a different part of the city, and we all converged again at the casino downtown.  Naturally, my favorite part of the casino is the all-you-can-eat sushi, crab legs, and shot glass size desserts in the buffet.  A little bird told me it was socially inappropriate to guide your friends to a buffet 2 hours after eating a 4-course dinner though.  So no buffet for me this weekend- probably for the best.

What did I do instead?  Gambled away all $2 I had in the Atari Pong slot machine, and gawked like a cheapskate at the hundreds of dollars people threw down on the roulette tables!  I also admired the color varieties of the chips.  Pink and lavender chips?  Yes please.

Did I mention that the casino is also pretty?  It only just opened recently, and it has the most amazing location right on the river.  The view of the city is gorgeous, and the view of the casino from downtown isn't bad either!
I finally dragged myself into bed a little after 2, which was really fabulous when I had to get up to work opening shift at the mall this morning.  I was dutifully rewarded though by scoring 2 pairs of pants for a total of $5.95.  I love a good deal!

After another afternoon of work, it was off to see the fam.  Today was my mam's real birthday, so even though we had a party last week, I deemed today as an appropriate excuse for cake as well.  I was properly rewarded for my cake delivery with HOMEMADE PIEROGIES!  If you've never had them, you don't know the amazing (artery clogging) goodness that you're missing.  I only indulge maybe once or twice a year, but they're oh so good when I do.

I shall run 24 hours tomorrow to burn off the butter content alone, pinky promise!

Workout: 4 hours on my feet at work.  Weak, I know.  I just picked out my dress for a wedding two weeks away though, so I've got a little extra push of motivation going into this week!

Friday Fabulous Favorites

It's Friday, and time for Friday Favorites!

1. Favorite Stress Reliever: The stick!  Thanks to spending hours upon hours sitting in school desks and hunched over books studying, I end up with major tension knots in my neck, shoulders, and upper back.  This sweet little piece of plastic is the perfect answer.  Aside from shelling out the money for a real massage, this has got to be the best thing out there!

2. Favorite Breakfast: Oatmeal!  I grew up on a lot of Quaker Maple Brown Sugar Instant Oatmeal.  I rediscovered my love a few years ago, and haven't been able to stop myself from downing it practically every morning since then.  I also eat it in my car at least 90% of the time; I'm terrible with time management in the AM!  The unfortunate side effect?  Sometimes our entire supply of spoons ends up in the center console of my car.

3. Favorite Picture Ever: This one.  Of all the billion and one pictures that the hubs and I have taken together, this is by far my fave.  Ok, I'm a little biased because it's from our wedding, but I love it.  It's bright, flattering, and we're both overcome by ridiculously happy smiles.  Life can't get any better than that.

Workout: (I've been slacking on this so I might as well start on a down day)  No workout today, still fighting off the last bit of this chest cold, but hopefully I'll be movin again soon!

My motivator.

I require about 8 hours of sleep per night.  My class starts in less than 8 hours.  I'm not math genius, but something tells me I am going to be short on sleep.  Tomorrow is Friday though, and really, silly things like sleep don't matter on Fridays!  Tomorrow is also February 25th already, which means I'm almost to the end of my February posting challenge.  Sorry if I've been boring some days; don't worry, you can say it.  Hopefully it's got me into a nice habit though, so I can post as often as I have something to say.  Which the hubs would probably say is constantly, and increases when he's busy dong something else!

Speaking of the hubs, and the million and one reasons why I love him.

We have a lot of fun together.
Our weirdness kind of balances out between the two of us.
We both love to travel to fun new places.
And he cleans up pretty nice.
And I tricked him into marrying me am lucky enough to be married to him.

So why am I getting all mushy-gushy tonight?  Well, mostly because I can, but also because the hubs has become a great motivator for me!  Up until now, I've always been the athlete, while the hubs has been the supportive bf/fiance/hubs.  He would work out some, but I was always nagging pushing him to do more.  Things have change lately though, and the tables may even be turning a bit.  He is still working hard at his Biggest Loser competition, and he is totally kicking some butt!

Seeing him rock out the exercise and nutrition changes has put a major guilt/motivator on me!  I am so ridiculously proud of him!  We may not look like we did when we started dating (7+ years ago), but we're on the way.
Now if only I could figure out how to look 19 years old now and forever as well; I would be ok with that.

Junk in your trunk

I've recently noticed that all of the public parking structures around the city have posted new signs:
I giggle like a child at the weak double entendre, and if anyone is within earshot I may even reference the fact that I've always got lots of junk in my trunk, and everyone laughs.  Or, I said it to the hubs once, and he didn't find it funny at all.

But I do have junk in the trunk.  This trunk, my car is always super messy:
And (overshare) this trunk too:
But that's not the point.  The point is that the picture includes the awesome tank that I found at Target a little while ago.
I obviously bought it awhile ago because I still had hair.  I was there last week though and they still had it, and in more colors!

What's so much better about this tank than the other tanks I've found?  It doesn't ride up!  I do love my body but a huge size difference between waist and hips can make it really, really hard to get fitted tops to stay down, something about the law of gravity and centrifugal force and me making this all up.  Thanks to the little bit of pleating in the back though, it's just the right size at the bottom to fit the junk in my trunk!  Bonus points for it also having a decent built-in bra and not having a racerback.

For future reference though, do put your junk in the trunk!

Mmm mmm Speedos

Had dinner a'la Costco food court.
Had a nice relationship counseling session with the Costco employee in the clothes section after the hubs made a bosom-size comment while I shopped for a new Speedo.  Joking of course.  Something tells me hubs and I ended up together because sometimes we're the only two that can put up with one another and enjoy every second of it!

This kind of Speedo by the way.
Not so much this kind.
Then we kicked back and relaxed for a bit in an over-sized beanbag chair, lamented about there being no free samples 20 minutes before closing on a Tuesday night, and wheeled ourselves out the car with two full carts.

And that's how you spend a romantic evening with your spouse when you're old, married, in love, and haven't Costco shopped in months!

Did I mention we got over 8" of snow last night?  Tomorrow, I will embark on Operation Dig-Out-My-Car.  I left it parked on the street so we could get the Jeep out of the garage without any trouble this morning.  With multiples plowings... there is snowed piled halfway up my door.  Awesome.  Aerobic workout here I come!

Dear Mother Nature

Dear Mother Nature,

I don't suppose you had anything to do with the snow that has been consistently falling since well before I left work 5 hours ago.  I also don't speculate that you had anything to do with the snow covering the roads that resulted in me accelerating through the stop sign at the bottom of the neighborhood in hopes of getting enough speed to make it up the hill and home safely.  Though I should probably take a moment to thank all of my neighbors that weren't home at 5pm because I almost certainly would have hit every one of their cars on the street as I fishtailed my "little engine that could" up that hill!

For future reference, I would very much like a little more February weather like this:
And a little less like this:

Much love, hugs and kisses.

Halls breath

An unfortunate side effect of gorgeous Spring-like weather in the dead of winter... is that it always manages to make me sick.  I'm sure all my customers today really appreciated my coughing, sneezing, and Halls breath while me and my nasally voice helped them pick out new clothes for Spring!

I couldn't not post today after doing well everyday this month, but that's all I've got in me today.  Hopefully I'll be back with a little more zest and less sneezing tomorrow!

So when...?

Today was no yesterday, but the weather was still gorgeous.  I'll settle for cropped sweats and a fleece in February.  I think we were buried under a few feet of snow and without electricity somewhere around this time last year.

I had a lot of fun with the fam this afternoon celebrating my Mam's birthday.  I made everyone else jealous by bringing my grandma one of these as her present.
Prantl's Burnt Almond Torte, all wrapped up in a bow.  That's not her's.  She left her's in the box so she could take it home and have it all for herself later.

I then spent most of my day sitting on the floor and eating pretend pizza and cake with my favorite little boy.  We also rocked Alvin the Chipmunk to sleep exactly 485 times, and then put him to bed in a plastic microwave.  Then we turned the Disney Princess nightlight on and off 101 times and pretended we were airplanes.  Clearly, we had some serious business to take care of.
Unfortunately, that wasn't today either, but that is us.  Can you tell I forgot my camera?

I love to play with other people's kids and then send them home.  Surprisingly I only had to field the "So when are you going to have your first?" question once!  I do still have 14 months until graduation.  You do the math.

It's all Greek to me.

Remember the little Greek place that just opened by my house.
I called yesterday and made Friday night reservations for me and the hubs.  Since I spent Valentine's Day studying, I figured we deserved a nice little romantic dinner.

I had read through lots of reviews online, and all of them said the same thing.  Amazing food, amazing service, really tiny seating area with a really long wait.  I'm too indecisive to ever make reservations, but I bucked the trend and did for tonight.

This would have been fab... had they not somehow lost our reservation.  They were turning a lot of people away, so we were very happy with how they handled our disappearing reservation.  They brought us out some apps on the house and we were at a table in less than 30 minutes with many apologies.

Everything was just blissfully wonderful from there.  From the apps to the Moussaka to the dessert (the service and atmosphere too!), everything was amazing.  It was wonderful enough that there may be a whole other post about just that... and we'll be making reservations again very soon!  This time though, I'll probably double check them day of!

We told the sweet young manager girl that she set a new bar above the local Greek Food Festival!  If you're in Pittsburgh... Mediterrano on Babcock Blvd- HIGHLY recommend it!

Blissful

I left for soccer tonight wearing shorts and sandals.  I drove home at 10pm with the windows down in the car.

It's February in Pittsburgh, so really, no other words are needed.

PS- We took down our Christmas light this afternoon.  We are no longer those  people of the neighborhood.

Hi AAA- it's us again.

My beloved car must have known that I signed the check for it's very last loan payment last week.
Because when I tried to start it this morning, it refused my request.  On that note, AAA made its third visit to my house in last two weeks.

And no, that picture wasn't from today, thankfully.  We've actually be graced with some unseasonably warm weather.  Last Wednesday, the inside of my nose froze into little icicles (yes, boogie icicles or mucous or whatever you choose to call it).  This Wednesday, I walked out to get the mail in a tshirt and it felt glorious!  Maybe that will be motivation for me to finally take down my Christmas lights and dead pine garland around the front door.  Or maybe not.  The garland should just compost itself any day now anyways...

Day in the Life

I slept in until 10 yesterday, spent the entire day studying on the couch, and got plenty of sleep last night.

Then my day went like this.  Welcome to my life; it's exhausting.  I have been meaning to do a sort of "Day in the Life of a DPT Student" post, but I've decided that my days just vary way too much to sum it up in just one.  So hopefully I'll be throwing in more of these now and then.

6am- wake up and get myself ready
6:45- eat breakfast, pack lunch, brew some coffee, and get my stuff together for the day
7:15- out the door to head to campus
7:30- catch up on Bachelor gossip with friends and cram in some desperation studying
8am- Take Neuromuscular exam, while swearing at my paper because I know there is more than one right answer
9am- Head to the lounge to complain about the exam, discuss answers, discuss food, and cram for the next exam
10:15- Back to Neuromuscular class
Noon- Eat lunch with my eyes locked on my Pharmacology notes
1pm- Take Pharmacology exam.  Answer 77 questions on gut feelings and pray for the best
1:45- Walk across the street to buy Chex Mix for afternoon class.  Sign up for a frequent shopper card so I can get half off!
2pm- Briefly attempt to print articles for 2:30 class but give up and walk to Starbucks instead.
2:30- Down a frap on the hallway floor waiting for the room to empty
2:31- Time for peds class!  But my eyelids are heavy and I'm not disappointed when we end early
4:30- Head to the computer lab to waste time work on things until my chauffeur hubs is ready to head home
6:30- Finally head home
7pm- Frozen pizza and steam-in-the-bag veggies for dinner while we watch Watson on Jeopardy.  It was that kind of night.
7:30- Go back and forth between falling asleep and working on compiling a group project that is due Thursday... while watching Biggest Loser
10pm- Give up on the group project for the night because I have off tomorrow and write a blog post instead, followed by an email to my group pinky-swearing that I will get our paper done.
10:30- Convince the hubs to go to bed since it's already 30 minutes past my bedtime

ME = beyond EXHAUSTED
It has been a mentally exhausting day, and I'm convinced someone recently attached 5lb weights to each eyelid.  Who knew sitting still most of the day could drain all your energy so fast!  Made me feel like...

I promise to be back with a little more zest tomorrow; I get to sleep in until at least 7!

Hot Date

I have a hot Valentine's Day date today.  It's going to last all day and night, and the hubs isn't invited.  It's already making my blood pressure rise, and I might even break a sweat.  The whole date is occurring cuddled up on my couch under layers of blankets.

So whom is the hot date with?  Or more specifically, what?  It's me and my Pharmacology notes, all day and night.  We're getting super up close and personal all day long.

It's Valentine's Day after all, and nothing makes my romantic little heart go pitter-patter like reading about antihypertensive medications.
On a side note: I think there should be a limit on how many arrows you are allowed to draw on one piece of paper.  More than 20 is just excessive, right?

Hope everyone is having a Valentine's Day slightly more enjoyable than mine.  (My real romantic date will be Friday night after this week is all over!)  Don't forget to tell all the special people in your lives just how much you love them today... and every day.

The sweetest dreams

It's going to be one of those kind of weeks.  But I'm not going to let 3 midterms, a group paper/presentation, and an assignment stand in the way of 28 Days of Blogging

I've had some plans up my sleeve to take the hubs to a few new (to us) places recently in honor of Valentine's Day.  He was a big fan of Murray Avenue Grill, but any good dinner could be overshadowed by the amazing post-dinner deliciousness across the street.

We've officially had our first do it yourself FroYo experience, and it-was-amazing.  Nevermind the fact that I had to dig in on the walk back to the car, even though it was so cold outside that I couldn't even feel my fingers.  Unfortunately, that also means it was long gone before my fingers warmed up enough to function a camera.  Suffice to say, it was amazing.  And the Post-Gazette took a lovely picture for me.
Now I'm just itching to find out when they are opening their new location.  Hopefully, very very very soon because it will only be a short block from my building on campus.  FroYo for lunch everyday?  Yes please.  It's healthy as long as I put fruit on top, right?

And with 12 flavors to choose from, and toppings I couldn't pronounce... I should probably go back daily for the rest of my life in order to sufficiently taste test every possible flavor combination.

Yesterday: Irish Mint yogurt, New York Cheesecake Yogurt, and Raspberry Yogurt topped with graham cracker crumbs, coconut, yogurt chips, white chocolate chips, strawberries, bite size cheesecake pieces, caramel syrup, and whipped cream.

... off to bed to dream sweet dreams of froyo and berries and caramel with a cherry on top.

Circa 2004.

The hubs and I celebrated Valentine's Day a little early with date-day today.  We are going to celebrate the real day by having the hubs go buy a new car while I sit home alone and study for the pharmacology and neuromuscular midterms I have Tuesday.  We clearly have some super romantic plans up our sleeves.

And on that note, I've been putting off my studying for way too long.  So I'll keep it short.

First Valentine's Day with the hubs circa 2004.  Aw, look at the young lovebirds.

Friday Favorites

TGIF, it's time for (lazy) favorites!

1. Favorite Part of My House: I'm kind of in love with my closet.  Confession though, that's when we moved in, and it's holding at least twice as much stuff  now... oops.

2. Favorite Place to Eat: Who needs fancy restaurants, menus, and checks to pay.  I'll take a feast at my Mam's house over that anytime!
ETA: That's the table after all 60+ of us got our food.  You'll never get skinny in that house.

3. Favorite Appliance: What's that?  You don't believe in choosing favorites when it comes to appliances?  Have you met my Kitchenaid?

I feel like I just met Justin Beiber

I decided on, purchased, and then gifted the hubs's Valentine's Day gift in the matter of about an hour last night.

I was at work, chatting with a customer when she said there was a long line downstairs, a bunch of people waiting to see some guy name Letestusomethingorother.  She had no idea who he actually was, but she thought he was pretty good looking.

I did know who he was, and I think she was right on the last part.  He can totally come be my second husband.  I'm sure his wife would understand, and it looks like he might even have all of his teeth!
It was Mark Letestu from the Pittsburgh Penguins, and he was there for an autographing signing.  I decided to go take a peek when I got off work at 8.  The line at that time was roughly one person long, so I decided to check things out. (Yes this post is still about the hubs's Vday present; I'm getting there).

You had to pay to have him sign anything, but I assumed the money was going to charity so I didn't really mind.  After some googling it seems the money may actually just go to the store at the mall that was sponsoring it... which is disappointing.  I may not have partaken if I knew that were the case.  But I went and bought a hat and a tshirt and paid for my two signatures.

I left with my hubs's Valentine's gift in the form of a signed hat, and a birthday gift to stash away for 5 months for my little brother in the form of a signed tshirt.  My 14 year old brother likes to be difficult and pretend he's a Washington fan instead, but he'll wise up some day.

I got a picture of him signing the shirt so I could throw it in with my brother's gift.
I tried to get a pic of him signing the hat as well, but I was a little late.  Instead I got a picture of his hands and him staring at me and probably wondering why this creeper was taking pictures of his hands.  So I told him thanks and good luck and ran for the hills headed home.
I was excited like a 13 year old girl that just met Justin Bieber, and I couldn't not tell the hubs about it last night.  So I spilled the beans and gave him his gift early.

He really liked it and said it was cool... at first.  And then he asked what he was supposed to do with it.  Awesome, and happy early Valentine's Day.

Hi Mom

My last customer of the night before I left work today was a young teen girl, about 13.  I helped her pick out an outfit for her to wear to her mom's funeral.  And then I cried on the drive home from work, and again now while I type it.  I'm very thankful for my own mom tonight.  Love you (and dad too).

Kale Me

First things first, inquiring minds wanted to know what exactly was the green stuff in my smoothie.  Kate gets a prize (if I actually had a prize) because it is kale.  Kale can fall under the category of "super food", but I'm always short on ideas with what to actually do with it.  It looks a little funny in a smoothie, but my initial skepticism was squashed after I tried it for the first time.  It also has all sorts of wonderful reasons to be in my smoothie:

1. It has about a billion and one nutritious pluses to it.
2. It's an easy way to squeeze in some extra veggies.
3. It makes your smoothies an ugly green color which results in your hubs not touching it, leaving more for you.
4. It's yummy, simple enough.
5. The kale gives smoothies a texture similar to the way mint gives texture to a frozen mojito (my favorite reason!)

I throw mine in raw so it gives texture, but I suppose you could steam it first and it may blend smoother.  I kind of like it chunky though.

As for the other ingredients: plain fat free yogurt, V8 Splash juice, strawberry/mango/papaya frozen fruit blend, a fresh banana, a little honey, and if I'm shy on protein for the day I'll throw in a little scoop of vanilla protein powder.  Yum.

If anyone has other suggestions of what to do with Kale, I'd love to hear them!

So smooth.

My legs are aching- the perils of retail work.
I have yet to touch any of my study notes.
I am only 23 minutes shy of bedtime.
I'm not ready to talk about the game of which we do not speak of, hah.
And I can't stop watch The Bachelor and exclaiming how scary crazy Michelle is!

So we'll keep this short, sweet, and happy, ending Monday on a high note.

I've been craving smoothies like crazy lately, and this one was particularly delicious.
Smoothies, delicious, have a good night.

Black and Yellow...

Today's To-Do list:

1. Bake peanut butter cookies (50% brown sugar, yum)
2. Make chocolate mousse with chocolate chips
3. Squeeze in a workout so I can partake in #1 and #2
4. Cover myself in black and gold from head to toe
5. Paint the nails black and gold
6. Make well-intentioned glares at my piles of study notes, but do no actual studying
7. Indulge excessively while cheering my boys on to a 7th Super Bowl win!
8. Drive home safely in the melee that will surely ensue.

Happy Super Bowl Sunday Yinz Guys!
(I only speak Pittsburghese on Super Bowl Sunday)

6 is nice, but 7 is better!

Nerd Alert

Twisted Nerd Alerted: I watch sports for the injuries.  I also promise this post won't be entirely about Pittsburgh sports or injuries, or entirely about anything at all.

Pens Evgeni Malkin went down last night, and it was all over the news today that he tore his ACL and MCL and will, of course, be off the ice for awhile.
I actually haven't seen the clip yet because not having cable makes it difficult to watch... anything, hockey included.  I'm sure I'll be youtubing and replaying it here shortly though, trying to figure out what exactly happened.  Why both ligaments?  Why not another?  Meniscal damage too?  Wonder how long he'll be rehabbing before he can skate again?  Play again?  What about playoffs?

That's normal, right?  To analyze injuries.  I've always loved to watch sports.  I'll skip the golf and baseball on tv, but I could spend hours watching any other game or competition.  Since starting PT school though, I've found a whole new part of watching sports that I can get into: the injuries!

It's kind of my new twisted-nerdy game: Guess That Injury.  Despite my love for the Steelers and their luscious-locked safety, I can't deny that I got a little excited when I got this one "right".
MCL sprain? Correct!

Do you find yourself doing the same?  Not necessarily the same thing exactly; I realize I'm a little weird.  Did I mention that I will also analyze your gait pattern while you walk in front of me?  Want to run down the sidewalk or on the treadmill in my line of sight too?  I'll gladly analyze in secret. Stop the overpronating already!  Catch me on a good bad day, and I might even tell you just how incorrectly you are using your crutches/cane/walker.  That's right, not even your granny is safe!  Ok, not really so much on the last part.  Just because the wheels in my head are turning doesn't mean I would ever actually open my mouth.

So are you guilty too?  Do you find yourself carrying over your work/school/career knowledge into the rest of your life?  Do nutritionists analyze fellow diners meals?  Do techies go crazy over... anyone that isn't?  Do writers go crazy when they read poor grammar?  Is that who scribbles in corrections on random flyers and signs in public?  I want to hear it.  What about your job carries over into the rest of your life or turns into a pet peeve?

PS. Go Steelers!

Friday Caffeinated Favorites

My day started out by getting out the door late, making me late for class 3 out of 3 mornings this week.  Oops.  The kicker though, what happened as I was trying to rush out of my car and over to class.

I got out of the car and reached into the backseat to grab the rest of my things.  While I was doing that, my travel mug full of coffee fell off my roof and onto my head.  Yup, cracked me right on the head, and it hurt, a lot.  And at that moment I realized that it has to be some terrible omen to have your morning coffee fall ON-YOUR-HEAD!

I only lost a few drops of coffee though, and I was wearing my pretty new boots (yes, I decided to keep them), so I was determined to have a good morning anyways.  And I did.

It certainly didn't hurt that it is Friday afterall.  Which means it's time for Friday Favorites!

1. My Keurig.  Despite the fact that I dropped it on my head, my Keurig did brew me a kick-butt cup of Butter Toffee Coffee this morning!  Just what I needed in a 7:30am class.  This definitely ranks up there amongst the very best Christmas presents- ever.  Clearly someone knows I can't let a day go by without caffeine in my veins!
2. My boots.  They are my new favorites.  They got me through 6 hours at school, another 4 at work, and little shopping time too.  They're my new love.  One of the girls told me this morning that the wider shaft makes my legs look skinnier.  I'm sold; maybe I'll wear them with my bikini this summer.

3. Steelers.  My favorite sports team.  Not just a Friday Favorite, but my everyday favorite.  Did you hearing they're playing a game on Sunday?  A little thing we like to call the Super Bowl.  You should consider tuning in.

4. The hubs.  He's my favorite hubs that I've got.  He brought me in dinner when he knew I didn't want to get up off the couch, brought me meds when I complained about a headache coming on, and he's just pretty much the bee's knees on a daily basis.  Bonus, he also happened to have bought me #1 and #2 on my list, and tickets to go see #3.  Yup, bonus points for the hubs; I think I'll keep him!  I kind of promised him that anyways, when I grabbed his tush and said 'I do'.
